Moments of rural unrest can be long-simmering or very short-lived. They can be explosively public or orchestrated in hidden ways by secretive perpetrators of direct action. They can be linked to wider social and cultural moments and movements or may be part of parochial or pastoral concerns. So, how do we begin to grapple with these slippery histories through museum practice? Listen in to Tom Carter-Brookes, environmental activist and Leverhulme Doctoral Scholar, Katrina Navickas, Professor of History at the University of Hertfordshire and Ollie Douglas, Curator of the Museum of English Rural Life, as they discuss the subject, and join in with your own experiences.
Tickets are free for members of the Rural Museums Network, AIMA and BAHS. £5.00 non-members. For more information: https://www.ruralmuseums.org.uk/?page_id=1911
